Being located in a densely populated neighborhood of Nungambakkam , we were prompted to take an introverted design approach that allowed us to place an indoor swimming pool in the second floor which provides sufficient privacy to the users. As one enters the gate, the ramp lead up to a car drop off . The curved stairs with the marble clad water cascade lead up the entrance of the house . The full height sliding glass doors in the living room enables a spatial continuity of the adjacent landscape into the living spaces. As we travel up to the second floor through the glass elevator , we are treated to grand view of the 24 feet long crystal chandelier suspended from a bridge above the swimming pool. The whole of second floor is an open floor plan that connects the kitchen , dining & the double height deck. The library is located in a corner buffered from all the living spaces by a curve book shelf that doubles up as seating. Every single room is styled around the occupants personality. The glass floored master bed has a open bath concepts, however the shower area is well tucked away behind a curved partition that provides equal privacy as a conventional room layout. Formal straight lines define the design of the son’s bedroom while the daughter’s room is detailed with the curved contemporary cornice, etched leaf patterns on doors & the angular book shelves. The kids room is all white with just the splash of rainbow colored railing that leads up to their private den. The home theater is the favorite space for the man of the house. With its installation of Dolby Atmos enabled Bowers & Wilkins speakers & 4k projection there is never a reason to step into a movie theater hence forth. The is a project very close to our heart & meant to be lived-in to experience its entirety .
